Rear Shocks Installation

ecosport Rear shock
To replace the rear shocks on a ecosport you will need to remove two sets of bolts/nuts. The first being the one located on the top of the shock. This one can be accessed through the trunk of the car by removing the flooring and plasic coverings directly above the tire of the vehicle. There is a single nut that must be found and removed. The second set is located on the bottom of the vehicle and is a bolt and nut which runs through the loop on the lower end of the shock as shown in the picture. Once both fasteners have been removed the shock can be removed from the vehicle with ease. The new shock can now be set into place and tightened down in the reverse order of removal. Start by setting the upper shock part into the hole and tightening the upper nut to 13 ft-lbs unless the vehicle is a wagon which would then be 85 ft-lbs. The lower shock bolt will need to be tightened to 66 ft-lbs. Once tightened the job is done and the vehicle can be lowered to the ground.
