How to change the rear brakes

The rear brakes on a Ford Explorer are disc brakes which involve the same directions as most other disc brakes including the front brakes on this vehicle. When reinstalling the rear brake caliper you must torque the caliper sliding bolts to 24 ft-lbs. If you are required to remove the caliper bracket you can retorque it down to 100 ft-lbs. Also the calipers banjo bolt that holds the brake line onto the caliper torques to 26 ft-lbs.
